A Compendium of Sunday Stuff™
Happy Sunday, and I hope that you’ve dealt with having an hour of your life sucked away for the summer (Daylight Savings Time — idiotic or just dumb?). To make up for that missing hour, here are the things going on in Cameronville this weekend:
- Evernight just published my blog post “Romance on the Go: Short and Sweet…on Purpose” over at their blog, so head on over and find out why “A Boon by Moonlight” and other RotG stories are the length they are.
- Speaking of “Boon,” it’s officially a category bestseller over at All Romance E-books, which is making me do happy dances. That being said, I’m not slacking off on the PR, and I need your help for that. If you bought “Boon,” please leave a review at Evernight, Amazon, ARe or Bookstrand, wherever you like. Remember, reviews are love!
- Storm Season is slowly but surely making its way up the production list over at Evernight. Personally, I cannot wait to see what they come up with for the cover.
- Behind the Iron Cross continues apace, although the Dallas Quilt Festival and a brand new niece convinced me to play hooky this weekend and work on a baby quilt. Don’t worry, though — I write in my head when I’m crafting. Plus I got some gorgeous ocean-themed fabric, and I may make a small wall hanging as a giveaway for Storm Season‘s release day.
- Have I mentioned recently how much I love having writers as friends? I’m currently beta reading the sequel to Cecilia Tan’s Slow Surrender (which is freaking fantastic — go get it if you haven’t gotten it already), and it’s amazing. I’m really looking forward to book 3 in her Struck by Lightning series.
- There’s nothing quite as nice as snuggling with three cats on your bed when it’s thundering outside. Just had to put that out there.
Nicola’s Sunday Shoutout: Angelina Rain
Today’s Sunday Shoutout goes to Angelina Rain, whose sweetly hot Free Read Bunnies and Batteries is now available from Evernight Publishing. Grace Alderson learns that product testing has some unexpected — and very welcome — side effects. And now, here’s Angelina!
Who doesn’t like a freebie? I know I enjoy getting things for free. A few years ago, I even became a book reviewer for the sake of getting free books. That made me think about what other things one could get for free and I thought: “Wouldn’t it be great to get free sex toys in exchange for a review?” That is where the idea for Bunnies and Batteries came from. And since it was free things that sparked that idea, I decided to give this book away for free. Go get it now!
What’s a girl to do when she has a sexy neighbor on her mind and a brand new vibrator in hand?
Grace Alderson is secretly in love with her neighbor, Clay Sawyer. She knows they don’t have a future together, not after what she did to him almost a year ago. There was no way he would forgive her for something as awful as that! Still, it doesn’t hurt to fantasize about his kisses and touches as she plays with her vibrator. When a strange sound wakes her from the orgasmic bliss, Grace realizes she’s not alone. Clay is in her house…watching her. Can they get over the past and find their happiness together?
Story Excerpt
The dog turned to him and Clay saw the begging in his eyes.
Damn it! He turned off the device and put it back down. Jumping over the fence, he intended only to open her kitchen door and let the dog inside. However, the instant he went to do it, a low scream pierced the air.
It was feminine and throaty and almost seductive. Like a whimper, one of possible pleasure or pain.
Maybe she was with…
No, he brushed the idea away. He hadn’t seen any man enter her house. But what if she had fallen and hurt herself?
He opened the door and Cello rushed in, running straight to his water bowl at the corner by the kitchen table.
Another moan pierced the air.
“Grace?”
No response.
He stepped over the threshold and shut the door behind him. Clay hadn’t been inside her house since their friendship ended. There were several times when she had invited him over for pizza and a movie when they were just friends. Before he ruined it with his romantic intentions. Her place hadn’t changed. He took in the same light kitchen with its white walls, white floors, and pale wood cabinets and table. The appliances were a light ivory and a bit aged. It was the black marble counter tops that brought life into the small space.
Stepping into the next room, he came into the dark living space. Flickering shadows of light from the fireplace danced across the walls, and soft music came from the television. Yet, what grabbed his attention was Grace.
She lay naked on the red leather couch, a black blanket under her back. One long, shapely leg thrown over the back while the other was on the hardwood floor. Her head was on a little red and black throw pillow. Long strands of golden hair were scattered around her head like a halo. Her eyes were closed and her mouth open, as another soft moan escaped those luscious lips.
One hand tirelessly pinched a hard pink nipple. Her breasts weren’t big. They were a perfect handful, or mouthful.
His breath caught in his throat and his mouth fell open as he watched her. He wanted to touch those breasts with his hands, his lips, his tongue. He wanted to bite onto one of those nipples and pull it lightly until she screamed for more. He wished to hear that soft moan again. And again!
Grace had a pink vibrator inside her core, pulling it in and out. The smell of sex filled the room and his erection rubbed against the fabric of his boxers. The scratch of it pained his penis head and he stuck his hand inside his shorts and stroked himself. The feel warmed him all over, and he wished it were her hand instead. His gaze fixed on Grace as she continued to pull the vibrator in and out.
He knew he should leave. Knew it was wrong to stand there, uninvited. Yet, Clay couldn’t tear his gaze away. He watched, mouth agape, with his hand in his shorts. The strain became too painful and he pulled out his hand.
Grace switched hands, tweaking her other nipple as she continued pulling the vibrator in and out. Her legs started to tremble as she arched her back. Her mouth fell open and a scream escaped her throat. “Oh, Clay,” she said around a moan.
His cock jutted inside his shorts. Did he hear right? Did she really just say his name? Her eyes were still closed, so she couldn’t possibly know he stood before her. Could it be that she felt some of the same emotions toward him that he felt for her?
A groan escaped his throat at the thought of her returning his love. He bit his bottom lip, regretting the sound he made. He stared at her face as her eyes opened. Her pupils were dilated, and her eyes were a darker blue than usual. Their gazes met. Her face quickly turned from pleasure, to shock, to panic, and she screamed as an orgasm ripped through her.

Let’s Make a Deal
It has been brought to my attention that some readers wish “A Boon by Moonlight” was longer. The problem with that is, it was written for Evernight Publishing’s Romance on the Go™ line, which has a specific 12,000 word cut-off. I was pushing the envelope as it was with length, but that’s why the story is only novelette length.
But never let it be said that I don’t listen to my readers. So here’s the deal — if you buy a copy of “A Boon by Moonlight,” I would ask that you leave a review at Evernight Publishing, Amazon, All Romance E-Books, or Bookstrand. If the overall response is positive, I will write a full-length (90K minimum) novel about Zach and Jerrek, and I will make sure it’s published one way or the other.
After all, there’s a reason why Jerrek is avoiding Faerie right now…
Release Day: A Boon by Moonlight (And Win Glittering Prizes!)
Happy Friday, my darlings! Let’s kick off the weekend by celebrating the release of my brand spanking new Romance On the Go™ story “A Boon by Moonlight,” now available from Evernight Publishing, Amazon, and other purveyors of fine erotic romance.
Ex-Marine Zach Mayhew is willing to do anything for his dying grandmother, even find a fairy ring and beg that she be allowed to spend her last days in Faerie. But when a gorgeous Sidhe noble named Jerrek demands a night in his bed in return, Zach learns that a boon asked by moonlight can have unexpected consequences for his heart.
But wait, there’s more! I’m also running a contest with the following prizes:
• A hand-made peridot Willow Tree pendant from Belaurient Arts! Worked in the shape of a willow tree (the symbol of Jerrek’s house) the pendant is made from antique brass wire and polished peridot chips, and is suspended on an 18″ antique brass chain with a 1″ extender.
• A $20 Amazon gift certificate
• A $20 Evernight Publishing gift certificate
To win one of these prizes, simply leave your name and email address in the comments below before midnight CST on March 3, and answer one question — what tree is the symbol of Jerrek’s house? (Hint — look at the pendant.) You MUST answer the question to be entered in the contest.
Thanks for reading, and good luck with the contest!
Fabulous Friday Reads: Immortal Thirst
Hello, darlings, and do I have a delicious vampire story for you this weekend! The wickedly creative Tyler Robbins has just come out with her MMM paranormal tale Immortal Thirst, now available from Evernight Publishing and other purveyors of fine erotic romance. If you like vampires, gorgeous men and menage relationships, trust me, you’re going to love this book. Read and enjoy!
Vampire Tristan Deveraux, savored the night with his young progeny, Caleb, by his side. Satisfying his shameless desires, he took what he wanted without reprisal or regret, until Gauge Roberts darkened his door.
Gauge, an ex-Navy Seal, offered more than muscles and brawn when he became Tristan’s personal security coordinator. Surrendering to an undeniable attraction, the dominating soldier scratched an itch both had ignored far too long.
A remarkable bond is quickly formed between the three very different men, allowing each to fulfill individual needs while maintaining separate but equal relationships, until a surprising enemy threatens to destroy it all.
Will they survive the deadly fight, or is heartbreak the only price for satisfying their kind’s immortal thirst?
Story Excerpt
Gauge cautiously entered a spacious loft with high vaulted ceilings and a dining room table filled with an assortment of food. To the right, he spotted a black, leather sofa with a very handsome and very naked man sprawled across it.
Gauge’s cock instantly twitched, his proclivity toward men revealing itself through his physical reaction.
“Hope you’re hungry.” Tristan’s voice resonated from the far left of the vast room.
Gauge’s gaze drifted away from the naked man and settled to where Tristan knelt at the foot of a chaise-lounge, intently suckling the inner thigh of yet another man.
The erotic moans of Tristan’s live meal filled the room, further stiffening Gauge’s shaft. Unsure what he should do, Gauge stepped back, only to be met by Caleb who handed him a glass of scotch. “Please, help yourself to whatever appeals to you.”
Dizzying thoughts danced in his mind. Which appetite should he satisfy first? This was new territory, far beyond the realms of even his vivid imagination. Should he indulge his physical hunger, his sexual needs, or neither, and keep his first day on the job strictly business?
“Perhaps he’s a watcher.” Caleb brushed past him as he strolled toward the lone man on the sofa.
Gauge drew in a deep breath to steady his spiraling nerves. “You feed right out in the open?”
Tristan ran his tongue up the length of the human’s cock then smiled. “They have no objections.” He then pricked his wrist with the tip of a pointy fang and allowed a few crimson drops to coat the lips of his quarry.
The man licked the blood, and his pupils immediately dilated.
“They drink from you?” Gauge swallowed hard, still trying to keep his wits about him.
“They give me the gift of an existence without pain. I give them unimaginable pleasure.” Tristan then kissed the man and returned to feasting upon his inner thigh.
Gauge glanced over at Caleb, who stood before the other man with his pants unzipped, gazing down intently as the man eagerly sucked his cock. Caleb’s hips rolled with the motion of the man’s bobbing head.
Caleb eyed Gauge with a smug grin. “He’s really good.”
Gauge licked his lips and wandered back toward the table where he blindly reached for a chair and took a seat. His heart pounded, and his cock pulsed. So fucking hot.
He’d been to clubs featuring group sex in back rooms, and had even participated once, but that was a long time ago and blood definitely hadn’t been involved. The erotic way Tristan fed only excited him more.
Gauge’s prick pressed tight against his jeans, and he fought the urge to jack off.
Tristan licked blood from his lips, nudged his partner to the side and joined him on the lounger. He skimmed his fingers across the man’s stomach, enough to make him shudder, but his seductive gaze remained locked on Gauge. “A ghastly sight, isn’t it?”
Gauge swallowed hard, his head booming from the erotic shock of it all. “Not at all.”
With speed too fast to measure, Tristan stood before him, his cock wet and stiff, smelling of sex and the unmistakable metallic scent of blood, an aroma Gauge recognized. “I suppose you’ve seen worse than a vampire fucking his meal?”
“Much worse.” That’s the understatement of the year.
Gauge tried not to dwell on the images which flashed through his mind. The macabre memory of flames reaching far above the rooftops of the small village where they’d burned the decapitated bodies of innocent victims and the vampires who had murdered them. The memory of diesel fuel mixed with the putrid stench of singeing hair and roasting skin Gauge thought would be embedded in his brain forever, also sneaked out from the recesses of his mind where he’d safely tucked them away.
He shot up from the chair, overwhelmed and uncertain of what was worse, the haunting memories of the massacre, or how easily the thought of fucking this sexy vampire appealed to his body and mind, so much stronger than his desire to kill him.
Tristan eased closer and inhaled deeply, then turned his attention to the other vampire. “Caleb, take them away.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Gauge saw Caleb step back immediately followed by the snapping sound of fingers. “You heard my master. Let’s take this party on the road, boys.”
Gauge’s muscles tensed as he resisted reaching out and wrapping Tristan’s long hair around his fist and fucking him like there was no tomorrow.
As the door closed behind them, Tristan ran his hand down Gauge’s arm. “Kathryn told you, didn’t she?”
Gauge drew in a deep breath. “Not sure what you mean, Sir.”
“She told you how I came to be a vampire. How she plucked me quite literally from the brink of death and how my need for sex is the only thing to rival my thirst for blood.”
“She told me you had a way about you I’d possibly relate to.” Gauge understood now. Kathryn’s recommendation included benefits Gauge had never imagined.
